KOTA KINABALU (Dec 11): The State government will start its Sabah Malaysia My Second Home (Sabah MM2H) programme, beginning December 12, 2024 with its recently reviewed criteria.

The programme is placed under the purview of the State Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment.

Announcing this in a press statement on Wednesday, the secretariat of the Sabah MM2H programme said the new criteria aim to attract participants from all nations with diplomatic relations with Malaysia and to give them options of different levels of financial commitment.

It stated that Sabah MM2H’s criteria offer three categories of applications, namely Silver, Gold and Platinum.

“The Sabah MM2H program will give participants the opportunity to live in Sabah with multiple entry visas for a minimum of 5+5 years, and to own housing property with a minimum purchase price of RM600,000.

“Sabah offers a safe and conducive environment for all ages, with good weather throughout the year and an affordable living cost.

“Participants under this program are able to bring in their dependents to Sabah. Their dependents will include spouse, children, parents and parents-in-law. The yearly minimum stay in Sabah is 30 days cumulative, making the program very attractive and friendly.

“All details of the program can be found at the Tourism, Culture and Environment Ministry’s dedicated website,” the secretariat said.

According to the statement, all applications can be made through licensed agents for Sabah MM2H.

“The State government has issued licences to local companies which can assist applicants in their application.”

The secretariat emphasised that the government is confident that the Sabah MM2H program will bring positive economic impact to the State.

“Economic spin-off is expected to benefit the local market. Many potential participants have registered their interest in the program and the government is committed to making the program a successful one,” the statement added.
